The UniversitĂ© de Technologie de Troyes is proud to host the 27th General Congress of the French Physical Society (SociĂ©tĂ© Française de Physique – SFP) from June 30 to July 4, 2025. This major scientific event will be marked by the presence of three Nobel Prize winners, making it an exceptional gathering for the physics community in France and beyond.
đź‘¶ A Family-Friendly Event
For the first time, the congress will offer childcare services throughout the daytime sessions and during key social events such as the opening cocktail, gala dinner, and public lecture. This initiative aims to make the event more inclusive and accessible for participants with young children.
🔬 A Week of Cutting-Edge Physics
Held every two years, the General Congress of the SFP provides a comprehensive, multidisciplinary overview of recent advances in physics. The week-long program includes:
Plenary lectures covering a wide range of physics disciplines, accessible to the entire scientific community;
Parallel sessions and symposia, showcasing breakthroughs in specialized fields;
High-level roundtable discussions addressing major scientific and societal challenges in physics;
“Science & Society” sessions dedicated to education, diversity, sustainability, and industry-academia interactions, including topics such as physics education, women in science, energy and environment.

In addition to the scientific program, the congress will feature:
Two poster sessions for research exchange;
An industrial and outreach exhibition, including scientific culture initiatives and Art & Science showcases;
Access to a unique “Quantum Village”, part of the UNESCO International Year of Quantum Science and Technology 2025, offering an immersive experience in cutting-edge quantum research and innovation.
👥 A Major Community Gathering
The SFP Congress typically welcomes around 650 participants, including a significant number of PhD students and postdoctoral researchers (over one-third). It is a unique opportunity for networking, scientific exchange, and celebrating the diversity and vitality of the physics community.
