During the ABET accreditation visit to the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE) was held from December 7 to 9, 2025, As part of this significant academic milestone, the KARE IEEE Electron Devices Society (EDS) Student Branch Chapter set up a dedicated stall on December 7, 2025 to showcase its technical and professional initiatives.

As part of the evaluation process, Mr. Scott Springer, ABET Evaluator, visited the department and interacted with faculty and students. The IEEE EDS team presented the chapter’s past accomplishments, ongoing activities, and future plans focused on research culture, industry alignment, and student skill development.

A key highlight was the presentation of ChipCraft, the chapter’s flagship initiative centered on hands-on learning in VLSI design. The program aims to bridge academic concepts with real-world chip design exposure. Mr. Springer appreciated the vision and the impact-driven approach of this initiative.

The visit served as a proud moment for the chapter, reaffirming its commitment to technical excellence and global academic standards.
